Adahi, also known as Qurban, is the sacrifice of an animal (sheep, goat, cow or camel) in the name of, and in seeking the pleasure of, Allah the Almighty. It is carried out by Muslims every year during Eid "Al-Adha", also known as the festival of Sacrifice, following the example of the father of Prophets, Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).
Allah the Almighty says in the Quran: “It is neither their meet nor their blood that reaches Allah, it is your piety that reaches him”. (Ch:22, V:37).
The Adahi Program aims to relief of poverty in Lebanon by distributing the frozen meat of “Adahi” to poor and needy persons. The program is connected to Eid “Al Adha” festival. Sheep are killed during the days of Eid “Al Adha” festival.
Bayt Al-Zakat Australia collects defined donations from participants, arranges for the killing of sheep at licensed abattoirs and arranges for the freezing, packaging & transport of frozen meats to Lebanon. Bayt Al-Zakat in Lebanon distributes frozen meats to the poor and needy who cannot afford to perform the Qurban sacrifice on their own.
With your support, Bayt Al-Zakat will be able to aid those in need during the celebration of Eid "Al-Adha". Your donations will be put to good use for those that are less fortunate.
